Global Cold Chain Training programme awarded
Schindellegi/Switzerland, February 22, 2012 The globallyoperating Kuehne + Nagel Group has implemented a worldwidecold chain education programme for which the company recentlyreceived the ‘Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year 2012’-award.
When developing the programme, Kuehne + Nagel Switzerland workedclosely together with a leading company from the pharmaceuticalindustry. Experts of the Swiss national Kuehne + Nagel organisationattended comprehensive cold chain trainings in the field of handlingtemperature sensitive pharmaceutical products across all modes oftransport. Based on this know-how, the Kuehne + Nagel Groupdeveloped its own education concept with clearly defined industryspecific standards and best practice (GxP) solutions.
The use of theprogramme, which has been implemented throughout the worldwideKuehne + Nagel Group, is mandatory. Furthermore, it is an importantelement for future-oriented airfreight products for the pharmaceuticalindustry, to be introduced globally by the Kuehne + Nagel Group shortly.
The ‘Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year 2012′ award waspresented to Kuehne + Nagel at this year’s IQPC Cool Chain LogisticsEurope 2012’ (IQPC – International Quality & Productivity Center).Nomination criteria included on the one hand – the impact of thesolution on the industry and the realised benefits to the customer interms of patient safety, risk reduction, process orientation and costoptimisation. On the other hand, communication, responsiveness,pro-active behavior and overall service levels as well as the commitment
to the pursuit of excellence and industry best practice were significantfactors for the nomination.
