EU allocates 32 million euros for infrastructure upgrades in Moldova

The European Union (EU) assigned a tender for 32 million euros for the upgrade of the so-called North-South corridor in Moldova. The tender was won by Greek Obermeyer Hellas and German DB Engineering&Consulting.


The project entails “the provision of the services of support in the implementation and supervision of the rehabilitation works of the North-South railway corridor”, the EU said. The railway goes through the Moldovan cities of Vălcineț, Ocnița, Bălți, Ungheni, Chișinău and Căinari.

 

Other than this 32-million-euro grant, the upgrade of this corridor in Moldova saw investments by various European institutions. Read more
