FERCAM, a historic logistics and transport company from South Tyrol, celebrated its 75th anniversary today, with Senator Luigi Spagnolli (heir of the founder) and Bolzano's mayor, Renzo Caramaschi, in attendance. During the celebration, which involved all employees connected from more than 100 branches, including the recently opened one in faraway New Delhi, the key moments of FERCAM's history were revisited. A touching contribution came from Franco Raffaelli, a long-standing employee who started working at the company at the age of 15 and shared his career journey that led him to become a significant manager alongside Eduard Baumgartner.
The celebration featured speeches from CEO Hannes Baumgartner and FERCAM President Thomas Baumgartner, who highlighted the crucial milestones in the company's development. A book dedicated to FERCAM's history and its employees, the protagonists of the company's growth and success, was also published on the occasion of the 75th anniversary.
Founded on July 12, 1949, FERCAM has undergone various management phases. Under the leadership of Luigi Spagnolli and Bruno Perina, the company became a benchmark in the national transport sector. Subsequently, Eduard Baumgartner led FERCAM through significant acquisitions, including that of the forwarding company Gondrand, expanding the range of services offered. Thomas Baumgartner then took the company to new levels of success, transforming it into a leader in consolidated freight transport and establishing a strategic partnership with DACHSER.
Since 2017, under the leadership of Hannes Baumgartner, FERCAM has continued to grow, achieving a turnover of over 1 billion euros and expanding its presence to more than 100 branches in Europe, Africa, and Asia. The celebration emphasized FERCAM's importance in the international transport and logistics landscape, highlighting the dedication of its employees and its ongoing commitment to innovation and environmental and social sustainability. In his speech to the employees, the CEO stated: "This milestone would not have been possible without the contribution of those who have worked and continue to work at FERCAM. It is your dedication, commitment, and passion that have allowed our company to be what it is today. I sincerely thank you for your contribution and for being an integral part of our team!"
