Amplify Cell Technologies starts construction of battery cell factory in Mississippi

Byhalia, Mississippi, USA – Amplify Cell Technologies, a joint venture between Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions business unit of Cummins Inc. [NYSE: CMI], Daimler Trucks & Buses US Holding LLC [a Daimler Truck Group Company; DAX: DTR0CK; “Daimler Truck”], and PACCAR [NASDAQ: PCAR], has recently initiated the construction of its new battery cell manufacturing plant in Marshall County, Mississippi.

Spanning 500 acres, the site will house a two million-square-foot, energy-efficient facility with an annual production capacity of 21 gigawatt hours (GWh) for manufacturing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. Amplify aims to commence battery cell production in 2027, with projections of creating over 2,000 manufacturing jobs in the United States. Read more
