Malaysia to raise dangerous goods road transport safety standards

IRU and the Asian Institute of Logistics (ASIL), the IRU-accredited training institute in Malaysia, are working together to boost driver training and examination capacity for dangerous goods transport based on international standards.  

 

Malaysia, a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is implementing the ninth protocol of the association’s Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Goods in Transit, a key instrument simplifying and harmonising transport, trade and customs regulations across its ten member states.

 

The ninth protocol specifically targets the transport of dangerous goods, making it safer and more efficient via mutual recognition of standards aligned with the UN Agreement on the International Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). Read more
