Evri to invest £19m in sustainable deliveries

Delivery company Evri has unveiled its ambitious plans to invest £19 million in sustainability efforts, with a key focus on expanding its fleet of e-cargo bikes for parcel delivery. The company aims to create the UK's largest fleet of e-cargo bikes as part of its strategy to enhance eco-friendly practices and reduce carbon emissions.

Evri intends to increase its existing fleet of 33 e-cargo bikes to 99 vehicles, and its electric vehicle (EV) fleet from 168 to 270 within the upcoming year. Additionally, the company aims to scale up its e-cargo bike fleet to an impressive 3,000 units over the next decade, aligning with its long-term goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2035.

Currently, Evri operates electric cargo bikes in major cities such as London, Bristol, Oxford, and Cambridge, facilitating the delivery of approximately 1.5 million parcels annually. To bolster its sustainability efforts, the company has established a dedicated 'final-mile electrification taskforce'. This taskforce is entrusted with spearheading innovative solutions, forging strategic partnerships, and implementing initiatives to transition its last-mile delivery operations towards a zero-emission model. Read more
