Electric Scania truck in action at LKAB mine in northern Sweden

The heavy tipper is the reason why long-term LKAB employee Stig Hoffner still hasn’t retired. It is too much fun driving an electric vehicle every day.

 

Not only is the electric truck making each work day enjoyable, but it is also an opportunity to evaluate how it responds to the demanding environment. It’s below -20 at times, with steep hills to encounter.

 

LKAB has run the truck at their iron ore mine in Malmberget since late 2022, and it lives up to their expectations, and more. The Scania 25P XT all-electric heavy tipper has a total weight including load of 49 tonnes and transports residual products. Read more
