IRU and Tajikistan discuss road transport priorities in Geneva

The Secretary General of IRU, Umberto de Pretto, and Sharaf Sheralizoda, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, exchanged on the importance of road transport for Tajikistan, a landlocked country in the middle of east-west trade.

 

Like most Central Asian countries, Tajikistan has been supporting trade, transit and TIR digitalisation efforts. It has implemented TIR-EPD electronic customs advance information and acceded to the e-CMR Protocol.  

 

IRU, together with its member the Tajik Association of Road Transport Operators, works closely with Tajik customs on trade facilitation and the digitalisation of TIR services, paving the way for the implementation of eTIRRead more
