At Saudi Arabia’s premier supply chain and logistics conference, IRU uncovered the power of AI and digital innovation in boosting the efficiency and sustainability of road transport.
Under the patronage of H.E. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, the sixth edition of Saudi Arabia’s Supply Chain and Logistics Conference brought together high-level government representatives and supply chain leaders to discuss innovative solutions to mobility and logistics challenges. IRU hosted a panel discussion and delivered a keynote speech on how digitalisation and AI are advancing road transport.
Rami Karout, IRU’s Senior Adviser for the Middle East and North Africa, moderated the panel on “Shaping the future of supply chain: Leveraging AI and digital innovation for safer, greener, and more efficient road transport”.
The renowned panel of experts featuring Andreas Zink (IRU member LKW Walter), Bassel El Dabbagh (CEVA Almajdouie Logistics), Berna Akyildiz (Transtas Global Logistics) and John Lucy (HaulageHub) explored how cutting-edge technologies are shaping the supply chain landscape, while highlighting the opportunities and challenges for AI and data-driven solutions to drive innovation in road transport.
In his keynote speech, IRU Director Certification of Standards Patrick Philipp said, “Data-driven approaches and AI empower companies and individuals to make informed choices, leading to a safer, more efficient and greener transport system.
“By benefiting from IRU intelligence, governments and businesses can make informed decisions. This is notably realised through the research and models that are conducted and developed with the IRU Green Compact, the industry’s roadmap to net-zero emissions.
“Data-backed innovation is now also making the mobility of people and road transport operations safer. With IRU Examiner and RoadMasters, we have developed a set of standards and certification programmes that capitalise on digital methodologies and capacities.” Read more
