Volvo Trucks is set to showcase its determination to tackle emissions and accidents in the transport sector with a line-up of greener and safer trucks at the IAA 2024 exhibition. The global product range of Volvo Trucks will be exhibited, featuring various trucks with renewable fuel options, fuel cells, and battery-electric powertrains, highlighting Volvo’s strategy of achieving sustainable transport today and in the future.

One of the main focuses of the exhibit will be the new Volvo FH Aero range, including electric and biofuel-powered variants recently launched for Europe, Asia, and Africa, and the all-new Volvo VNL for the US market, featuring groundbreaking autonomous technologies. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to experience the Volvo VNL in Europe for the first time. Both models were developed for fuel efficiency and safety.

The exhibit will also feature the new Volvo FM Low Entry and the iconic Volvo FH16 Aero. The Volvo FM Low Entry is the manufacturer's first truck with a battery-electric powertrain specifically developed for city driving with exceptional driver visibility. The Volvo FH16 Aero is optimised for robust tasks and productivity, featuring Volvo's new D17 17-liter engine certified for HVO and biodiesel B100.

Volvo Trucks will also showcase its upcoming e-axle technology specifically designed for its next-generation battery-electric and fuel cell electric trucks. The e-axle technology provides longer electric range and improves drivability.

Additionally, the company is developing hydrogen-based technologies for fuel cell and combustion engine applications as the next stage in decarbonising its truck range, with plans to release these technologies to customers in various markets towards the end of the decade.

The truck models at the exhibit will also be fitted with Volvo's innovative Camera Monitor System (CMS) for improved aerodynamics, fuel savings, and superior visibility to enhance safety. Volvo Trucks' focus on sustainable, safe, and efficient transport demonstrates the company's commitment to achieving zero emissions and zero accidents in the sector.
