Stuttgart to become a ''fairport''

Stuttgart airport (STR) has installed its first charging stations for electric trucks. The four charging points offer up to 400 kW for high-power charging and 150 kW for fast charging. Located on the south side of the airport, they serve local forwarders and cargo service providers.

 

Carsten Poralla (on the right), managing director of the airport operator, emphasised the role of airfreight for the region. As a ‘fairport’ the gateway aims to make ground logistics more sustainable. The new charging stations support this goal and contribute to the hub’s ‘STR Zero’ strategy, which targets climate-neutral operations by 2040.
